Beas Kund Trekking - 3N/4D
ITINERARY
DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN MANALI | A TOWN NESTLED IN THE PICTURESQUE BEAS RIVER VALLEY
Reach Manali where you can directly head to your pre-booked campsite. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and explore around. You can visit the mystical Hadimba Devi Temple, which locals refer to as the heart of Manali and is located amidst the beautiful Deodar trees. You can also visit the Manu Temple, and Vashisht Temple to feel the spiritual aura. Surrounded by shops selling handicrafts and carpets, the Tibetan Monastery is a famous sight that you can explore. Later, in the evening you are free to explore the Mall road, where you can visit some of the best cafes in Manali or indulge in a shopping spree. In the evening, return back to the camps for dinner. Overnight stay in Manali.
DAY 2 SOLANG VALLEY TO JARALU THACH VIA DHUNDI (8 KMS IN 4 HOURS)
Wake up early in the morning, have a hearty breakfast and check out from the hotel. Reach a pre determined spot in Solang valley, where the trek leader will give you a brief introduction to the trek. After having a hearty breakfast, you will start the trekking to Bakar/Jaralu Thach, located at an altitude of 3149 m. The trek is around 8 km long and the terrain is soft with a gradual incline that will take you through towering fir trees and dense oak and walnut forests. Enjoy the fresh forest fragrance and the silence pervading the woods, except for the occasional bird and the sound of your footsteps. Soak in the magnificent views of the surrounding Himalayas, specifically the sight of Hanuman Tibba in the distance which is enchanting on its own. Upon reaching, set up camp and relax for some time. The campsite presents will present the trekkers with a splendid vista of the Beas river, meandering past boulders, and green slopes all around. After a delicious dinner, you can retire to your tent for the night.
DAY 3 DHUNDI - BEAS KUND - DHUNDI (12 KMS AND 8 - 10 HOURS)
Wake up to a glorious morning in the Himalayas and fuel yourself with a lip-smacking breakfast for the trek. Begin the trek to Beas Kund which is a little strenuous yet rewarding at the same time. As you begin your hike, you will be greeted with the lush vistas of the snow-capped Himalayas like Deo Tibba and Indrasen. You will notice the scenery changing around you as the vegetation keeps getting sparse and you can see the glacier from a distance. After walking for 4- 5 hours, you will arrive at the Beas Kund, a lake with strikingly blue waters surrounded by high mountains and on occasion, purple wildflowers. The lake is the source of the river Beas and is surrounded by a seemingly endless expanse of grasslands. Observe the pattern of the flow of water, as the various streams become one and join the big main river. Spend some time soaking in the surrounding vistas and clicking some pictures as memories. After a while, we start the trek back to Dhundi which will take more 4-5 hours. Upon reaching the campsite, refresh yourself and grab a delicious dinner before heading to your tent.
DAY 4 DHUNDI TO SOLANG VALLEY
Start the day early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise. After a pleasant breakfast, we start the descend back to Solang Valley which will take up to 4 hours at a comfortable pace. Once at Solang Valley, you can choose to take a bus or a shared taxi back to Manali, or can participate in any of the activities here on your own.
